OIL junior tennis starts

OIL junior tennis starts:
The Oil India All Assam Junior Tennis Tournament 2008-09 got underway today at Zaloni Club Tennis Courts here. The 35-year-old tennis tournament is being sponsored by Oil India Limited (OIL). Altogether 220 players from various parts of the region are taking part in the tournament which is played in boy’s singles under 12, 14, 18 years and girls singles under 14 years.
Sri Paresh Khaund, executive director (SS&SB), OIL inaugurated the tournament Smt Susan Das Choudhury former national tennis champion and eminent sports personality attended the function as guest of honour. Sri Kuladhar Deka, chairman, organizing committee, welcomed the gathering.

Only boy’s singles under 12 years category matches were held on the inaugural day.
