Chennai: Boaz’s Team, comprising Dr. P.D. Boaz, P. Sridhar, N. Kirubakaramurthy, Uttam Gupta, Kumar and T.M. Suryanarayana won the Team of Four duplicate event of the N. Ramaratnam Memorial open bridge tournament at the Mylapore Club on Sunday.
The team beat Nest Inn ‘B’ (N. Sriram, D. Vijay, C.R. Badrinath, R. Krishnan and Prajwal) to clinch the title.
In the semifinals, Boaz’s Team defeated Mylapore Club (P. Narayan Iyer, V.N. Ramamurthy, S. Sankaran, S.V. Raghava, K. Chandramouli and C. Mohanakrishnan), while Nest Inn ‘B’ beat Gowri’s Team (V.G. Gowri Shankar, T.M. Ravindran, A. Sridhar, Ravichandran, C.S. Narayanan).
The Board-a-Match event was won by Gowri’s Team (V.G. Gowri Shankar, T.M. Ravindran, R. Ravichandran and R.S. Narayanan), with Commandos (R. Jagadeseesan, G. Koteeswaran, C. Mohanakrishnan and Cmdr. Ilangovan) finishing second. Lalitha’s Team (Lalitha Lakshmanan, Lakshmanan, Hari and Latha) was third.
M. Ram Santhanam, MD, Wheels India Ltd., presided over the prize distribution, while V. Muralidharan, CMD, PVA Market Sourcing Solutions Ltd., distributed prizes.
