Gauhati Town Club make it to semis

GUWAHATI, Feb 18 – Riding on a compact 54 by man-of-the-match Krishanu Mazumder, Gauhati Town Club stepped into the semifinal stage of the Bud Cricket Club organized Bud Challenge Cricket Meet defeating Silchar District Sports Association by six wickets.

Put into bat first the visiting team managed only 146 in the stipulated 40 overs losing all the wickets. Santosh Das was their main contributor with 34 while Anju Sirohi added 25. For Town Javed Akhter Khan, Binoy Kalita and Parag Barman shared two wickets each.

It seemed to be an easy task for the local boys as they gathered 87 for two in 20 overs. Later, they lost two more wickets while collecting the remaining runs in next 15.3 overs.

Apart from Krishanu, Nitin Das and Amzad Ali were the leading scorers with 25 and 20 respectively.
