Gaurav wins Formula Rolon title in National Motor racing



Chennai, Feb 15 (PTI) Gaurav Dalal of Team Red Rooster set the track ablaze to finish first in Formula Rolon category on the second and concluding day of the first round of JK Tyre National Racing Championship at Madras Motor Race Track here today.
Gaurav, who started on pole position, showed excellent control over the wheels to cover eight laps with a timing of 15:05:245. Ex national champion in Formula LGB Swift class Saran Vikram timed 15:05:388 to finish second, followed by Gaurav's teammate Sarosh Hataria.

Former champion Aditya Patel gave Gaurav some hard times during the initial laps but the Chennai driver had to retire when a technical problem struck his his machine.

In the Formula LGB Swift, pole leader Vishnu Prasad won finished first with a timing of 15:51:203, followed by his teammate Sudarshana Rao, while the third spot went to Prithveen Rajan of Team Wallace Sports.

Sudarshana got off to a blazing start to go past Vishnu, but failed to keep up the speed after the fourth lap during which his vehicle spun off.

The Super Bike Cup was red flagged after six laps when the lone female racer Alisha Abdullah's vehicle skidded off and crashed into the sideline. PTI
