India determined to carry on winning momentum in Gold Cup

Chandigarh, Feb 5 (PTI) India may have virtually booked a place in the finals of the Punjab Gold Cup hockey tournament, but coach-in-charge Harendra Singh seemed in no mood to relax and said his boys would go full throttle against Olympic Champions Germany at the Sector 42 stadium here tomorrow.Harendra said India would employ attacking hockey against the Germans in their second match of the return leg of the four-nation event.
"We don't want to break the winning momentum and even though our place in the finals is almost assured, we will not relax and will go full steam in the remaining matches," Harendra told PTI today.
The hosts, who alongwith Holland on eight points jointly shares the top spot, enjoy an upper hand over Germany, having already beaten them 2-0 in the previous outing in the tournament's first leg, but the coach-in-charge issued a word of caution to his players not to be complacent in tomorrow's match.
He also warned his players against conceding to many soft penalty corners, an area which has become a matter of concern for India in the tournament.
India conceded eight penalty corners in their last match against Germany even though the opposition failed to convert any of them, and four against Holland yesterday. PTI
