Shiv Kapur set to miss cut in Johnnie Walker Classic

Perth, Feb 19 (PTI) Lone Indian in the fray Shiv Kapur will require well nigh a miracle to make the cut after a horrendous opening round card of six-over 78 left him precariously poised at tied 152nd in the Johnnie Walker Classic here today.
Nothing went right for the Delhi pro at the Vine Resort and Country Club where he bogeyed half of the 18 holes.

Kapur got off to an ominous start and the hat-trick of bogeys was a sign of things in store for him.

Kapur birdied sixth and seventh holes but bogeyed the fifth and ninth to take the turn at three-over.

On his way back, the Indian bogeyed the 13th, 14th, 15th and 17th as well to see his campaign in complete disarray and the final hole birdie was hardly a consolation as he settled for six-over 78.

Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen fired eight-under 64 to take a one shot lead over Mardan Mamat of Singapore and Australian Tony Carolan. PTI
