TTFI in search of another foreign coach

Indore (PTI): Barely two months after appointing Massimo Constantini as the new national coach, the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) is searching for another foreigner to share the Italian's responsibility.

TTFI secretary-general Moolchand Chauhan said although they have not finalised any name as yet, the new foreign coach, to be brought in either from China or North Korea, would be appointed within a month and could be entrusted with the responsibility of the women's team.

"We are looking for another foreign coach, either from North Korea or China. But we are highly interested in a candidate from North Korea as they are very good in this sport," Chauhan said on the sidelines of the ongoing Pro Tour Indian Open here on Thursday.

"He should be here within a month and then we can share the responsibilities of the coaches. The new coach can well take care of the women separately," he added.

Constantini, who represented Italy in 70s and 80s and has also worked as a high-performance coach and education course conductor of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), has been handed the responsibility of grooming 40 'core probables' selected for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
