OILFC and Assam Rifles win in Premier League Soccer

GUWAHATI, Feb 14: Oil India Limited Football Club (OILFC) and Assam Rifles won their respective matches in the State Premier League Soccer Tournament held at two different venues today. OILFC defeated Assam Police Blues by 3-0 at Sivasagar while at Tezpur Assam Rifle came victorious against Green Valley by 2-1.

The match between Assam Rifles and Green Valley was well contested but Assam Rifles, who were more experienced between the two sides, finally managed to leave the ground with winning note. Both goals of the winner was scored by Akum Ao. Green Valley returned one through Abraham Goodluck.

Meanwhile, OILFC today registered their second victory in the tournament defeating Assam Police Blues by 3-0. The first half witnessed only one goal and that was scored by Z Hmar. The side increased the margin in the second half through Jayanta Basumatary and Prasanta Choudhury.
