GSA handed over leagues’ awards

GUWAHATI, Dec 4: Gauhati Sports Association (GSA) today handed over the prizes of the different-level of soccer leagues which the association organized in this season. The award function was held at the Judges’ Field just after the conclusion of the ‘B’ Division Soccer League which was won today by Navajyoti Club. Govinda Boro of FCISC was adjudged as the best goalkeeper of the Super Division Soccer League while Birendra Narzary of ASEBSC collected the best defender award of the league. Akon Khaklary of FCISC was adjudged as the best player of this year’s Super Division League. On the other hand, Sanjiva Rongpi collected the trophy of highest scorer. The best linkman trophy was won by Manoj Boro of ASEBSC. Both ASEBSC and AP Blues, champion and runners-up respectively of this year’s season Super Division Soccer League, also collected their trophies along with the cash award. It may be mentioned here that, ASEBSC today received Rs 15,000 along with the trophy while AP Blues was richer by Rs 10,000. AP Blues also received the fair play trophy of the league. Meanwhile, Gauhati Town Club and NFRSC today awarded the champion and runners-up trophy respectively of this year’s ‘A’ Division Soccer League. Among the individual prizes, Janap Deori and Dulu Gogoi, both from Gauhati Town Club, collected best player and best goalkeeper award respectively of the ‘A’ Division League. Rising Club were adjudged the most disciplined team of the tournament
