Asom lift NE T-20 cricket title

SHILLONG, Feb 28: Assam lifted the first North East T-20 Cricket title defeating Nagaland by five wickets in Shillong today. Krishna Das of Asom, who picked up three wickets for just 16 runs, bagged the man of the match title in the final.

Nagaland won the toss and elected to bat first in the match. However the side managed to score only 85 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Hokaito Zhimoni, the top scorer for nagaland, scored 49 runs from 67 balls.

Krishna Das took 3 wickets for 16 runs while Gokul Sarma claimed 2 wickets for 21 runs in his four overs..

In reply, Assam reached the target in 16.5 overs losing 5 wickets. Sib Sankar Roy (30) was the top scorer for the winning team. Aosashi bagged 2 wickets for Nagaland giving away 16 runs.
The champion team received cash award of Rs. 1,50,000 while Nagaland, the runners up of the tournament, was richer by Rs. 75,000. Hokaito Zhimoni of Nagaland adjudged Man of the Tournament..
