India blank Singapore 12-0

Johor Bahru, March 12: Mandip Antil scored five goals including a hat-trick to help India trounce Singapore 12-0 in their second match of the four-nation Genting U-21 hockey tournament at the Taman Daya Stadium here today.

The Indian colts, who led 4-0 at the break, found the net at will through Antil, Danish Mujtaba and Lalit Upadhaya, who scored thrice goals each, and Mohd Amir Khan.

With two back-to-back victories, India are sitting pretty at the top of the table with six points. Diwakar Ram-led side had earlier beaten Malaysia 3-1 yesterday. Though India coach A K Bansal was happy with the result of the match, he expressed little concern at his boy’s inability to convert any set piece penalty corner. (PTI)
