OILFC register big win in National League Soccer



Oil India Limited Football Club (OILFC) kept themselves in the contention to earn the next round berth in the National Second Division Soccer League as they registered a thumping 4-1 win over Bengal-Mumbai Club at Silchar on Wednesday. It was the first win for the Duliajan outfit and they now have four points from two outings. The tournament was resumed on Wednesday after it was stopped for a day to mourn the death of Ugandan player Kapeete Alex.
It may be mentioned here that Alex played the first match for Gorge Telegraph on Monday and later died in his hotel after a massive cardiac arrest in the early morning of Tuesday .

Oil India Limited Football Club badly needed a win in this match to strengthen their position in the championship as they drew their first match against Lajong Football Club 1-1. The side played some attacking soccer in the match and inform striker Durga Boro lead the team from the front. Durga alone scored two goals in the 50th and 55th minutes while Stephen and Yusuf added the other two. However, Bengal-Mumbai scored the first goal of the match through Penn who netted the goal from penalty in the 15th minute of the first half. THE SENTINEL
